Carolina Ellenbogen
Carolina Ellenbogen is a painter who moves back and forth at between abstract and very lifelike portraits. She is skilled with both oil and acrylic on canvas. Her recurring abstract series at Ellenbogen Gallery includes abstract artworks from her latest show “When the Light Drifts” together with artworks from “When the Light Breaks into Pieces” and “When the Light Folds”. Carolina’s growing collection of portraits are all part of a series she calls “People I’ve Never Met”. She is available to do commissions of any size in abstract or portrait.
Carolina Ellenbogen is an Artist and an Architect born in Maracaibo, Venezuela. Growing up in a family that loves arts & crafts, Carolina learned how to draw and create with her hands at a very young age. Beginning in her early 20s, she started painting and having exhibitions. In 2006, she won a competition in Zulia State for Young Artist at MACZUL, Museo de Arte Contemporaneo del Zulia. In 2011, she moved to Vermont. In the transition period, as she was settling into a new life, she took a break from painting. In 2015, she started producing a new body of work that conveys the feeling of transformation that she experienced, beginning a new chapter in life in a new homeland. She is married to another artist, Michael Ellenbogen, and they currently live and work in Manchester Center, Vermont, where they run Ellenbogen Gallery.
