Steel (Arc welded). The piece is painted with enamel paint, bright colors underneath with a darker color wash overall. Smith has used this technique on his steel sculpture for many years.

NOTES: Arc welding is a type of welding process using an electric arc to create heat to melt and join metals. A power supply creates an electric arc between a consumable or non-consumable electrode and the base material using either direct (DC) or alternating (AC) currents.
CARE: The sculpture needs only light dusting from time to time and should be kept out of prolonged sunlight.
