"Art is something to grow old with where the older you get the more you grow."

I have been fortunate in my career to have had the opportunity to study the art of watercolor, acrylic, mixed media & collage with well-known and gifted artists: Robert Frick. Peter Huntoon, Cheng-Khee Chee, Tom Lynch, Frank Webb, Tony Couch, Skip Lawrence, Arnie Westerman, Pat Dews, Robert O'Brien, Linda Kemp, Fred Lower, Jeannie Podolak, Robert Burridge, Jeanne Carbonetti, Mary Alice Braukman, Alvaro Castagnet, Fran Bull, Steve Aimone, Fran Skiles, Jane Davies, & Richard Weis.

Belonging & supporting art groups & galleries has been important to me as well as volunteering help in order to create a community of artists. I am a signature member of the Vermont Watercolor Society, an exhibiting member of The Brandon Artist Guild (Brandon, VT), The Chaffee Art Center (Rutland, VT), Southern Vermont Arts Center & Ellenbogen Gallery (Manchester, VT), Stone Valley Arts Center (Poultney, VT), Compass Music & Art Center, Brandon, VT), The Carving Studio & Sculpture Center (West Rutland, VT), as well as The Society of Vermont Craftsmen, The Rutland Arts Alliance, and The Vermont Crafts Council.

I enjoyed sharing my art by giving creative painting classes in the area: Rutland Town Community Centers, Rutland Regional Medical Center's Women-To-Women for Cancer Survivors, the Killington Grande for the Killington Jazz Festival, the Chaffee Art Center in Rutland, Vermont, and through private lessons.

I also enjoyed organizing classes for local artists & was the Show Coordinator at the Chaffee Art Center for the Vermont Watercolor Society; was a member of the Palette Committee for Brandon's Palettes of Vermont project & Brandon Rocks Again Fund Raiser; juried local art exhibits and served on Chaffee Art Committees and the Vermont Watercolor Society's Exhibition Committee.

Having volunteered & studied art for over 20 years, I decided to open my own gallery. In 2007; I opened "Art & Antiques On Center" where I exhibited & sold the works of 60 Vermont artists, along with country antiques. The gallery was located on Center St in downtown Rutland, VT. After over 5 years, I retired on December 30, 2012.

I have been involved in many artist promotional fundraiser projects: birdhouses, rocking chairs, dogs & cats, palettes, clocks & chickens for Brandon, VT as well as trains & hearts for Rutland, VT.

A very special note: Art & Antiques On Center Gallery closed it's doors December 30th, 2012. As the gallery owner & manager, I decided to retire after 5+ years. Art & Antiques On Center created a downtown focus business to generate interest in the arts. It's mission was to give local Vermont artists of all ages the opportunity to exhibit and sell their artwork, to educate the community about the process of "making art" and to share ideas about the importance of art and how it relates to our quality of life. This was a journey that I will always cherish and I appreciate having had the opportunity to serve so many of Vermont's local artists.

YOU WILL NEVER BE BORED, DEPRESSED, OR LAZY WHEN YOU DISCOVER THE MAGICAL WORLD OF ART; ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU SHARE IT WITH OTHERS
